Harvey Johnson (Deceased) 9/16/1992

This is a tribute to Harvey from his wife, Nancy Barton Johnson, who is also our classmate. (written in 2001)

Harvey Edward Johnson was born February 14, 1958 in Calousa, California.  His parents are Leon and Iris Johnson.  Harvey was the 6th of 13 children.  Harvey loved to work and play in the family orchard in California.  When Harvey was 15, his family moved to Cedar City.  Harvey and I became great friends when we were Sophomores.  Harvey was very friendly and made friends at CHS.  Harvey liked school and was a good student. He especially enjoyed singing in Acappella and Madrigals.  He had a great bass singing voice.

After graduating from Cedar High School, Harvey attended SUSC, then was called to serve an LDS mission to Argentina.  After completing his mission, Harvey and I were married in the St. George Temple on September 7, 1979.  He continued school at SUSC and began working for the Utah Department of Transportation. He stayed with UDOT and worked on his Civil Engineering degree on the side.

Harvey and I have four great children.  Carl is 20 and serving a mission in Michigan.  Renee is 18 and just graduated from CHS.  Marie is 16 and will be a Junior and Curtis is 12 and will begin 7th grade this fall.  All four kids are doing great.  (They also inherited their dad's singing talent!)

Harvey died in a car accident near Price, Utah, on September 16, 1992.  We miss him very, very much.  Harvey was my best friend, and was a great husband and father.  He was very active in the LDS Church.  He loved to read, spend time in the outdoors, camp, hike, etc.  He spent alot of his time helping other people and serving in the church.  He was, and is a great example to me and our children.  I am grateful we will be eternal companions.
