Scott Lyle Wilcken

Scott Lyle Wilcken, age 62, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in Delta, Utah. He was born on March 4, 1958 in Cedar City, Utah, the youngest of the five children of Dee Humphries and Cleone Wilcox Wilcken. Scott grew up in Enoch, Utah. He graduated from Cedar City High School. He served an LDS Mission in areas of the Iowa, Des Moines and Missouri, Independence Missions.

After returning to Cedar City, he was employed by a brick laying company. He soon met the love of his life, Lori Kay Webb. They were married on November 23, 1979 in the St. George LDS Temple. Scott was a dedicated and hard worker. Later he worked in construction for Cedar Valley Lumber; then was hired as Assistant Manager of the largest hog farm in the state at the time. After a few years he was hired to oversee the IFA Feed Mill in Cedar City. When the IFA Mill shut down in 2000, he moved to Leamington being employed as the Feed Mill Manager of the Cal-Maine Delta Egg Farm.

He deeply enjoyed being a part of the Leamington community. He joined the volunteer fire department and built strong friendships with the men he worked beside. Scott loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and ‘looking’ for game to hunt. He was an excellent cook with a dutch oven. He was skilled with his hands, making many turned wooden bells that he gave out as gifts. He also made many wire tree sculptures. He enjoyed singing and had deep bass voice to add to any choir. Scott had a sincere love of the Gospel. He served in the presidency of the Native American Branch in Cedar City and as a Scout Master. However, his greatest joy was his family. He created many fond memories of playful ribbing with his children. He was an excellent teacher and they will remember his many life lessons.

Scott is survived by his wife: Lori; children and grandchildren: Angela (Tyler) Munns - Kyle (deceased), Kilee, Kenden (soon due); Russell (Kiersten) Wilcken - Brynlee, Brielle; Renae (Alec) Murphy - Arianne; Thomas (Amelia) Wilcken. In his passing he is welcomed to his eternal home by his parents; his grandson; brother: Ted; and mother-in-law: LaRene Webb.
